Oddly enough, 11/11 is celebrated as Pepero Day in Korea. This is a commercial day similar to Valentine's Day where friends, and boyfriends and girlfriends exchange Pepero sticks - cookie sticks originally dipped in chocolate.

The day was likely created by Lotte, the company that makes Pepero's. Apparently this day was selected for the celebration because 11/11 represents four sticks of Pepero. I guess Lotte did not take into account the fact that on the other side of the world people are remembering those who fought for our freedoms. It's all just a little bit funny to me, but while in Korea celebrate as the Koreans do... Happy Pepero Day!!! \(^_^)/
